Installation of the PC Application
The pc application is required (if you are playing on the PC) for the SIM Dashboard Android App and must be started while you are playing. Please follow the steps in this tutorial carefully.
You should have downloaded
the installation package of the application
to your pc.
Start the install wizard by doubleclicking the installation package.
If your anti virus application detects a false/positive and deletes the installer file, read here
If the Microsoft SmartScreen Dialog shows up on your PC click on More Info first, then on Run anyway.
Software from small developers is often called an unrecognized Application. This absolutely common.
After this Version is around for some time the Dialog should not show up anymore.
Microsoft SmartScreen 2
If you are still unable to start the Install, you can Right click on the file -> Properties and then click on Unblock. Afterwards Double click the installer to start.
You should now see the Install Wizard. Click on Install to continue.
The application requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5. The installer checks if the .NET Framework is missing on your PC and installs it if necessary. If you need to install it manually, download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 and install it manually.
User Account Control
If the Windows User Account Control (UAC) is active on your device and the shown window appears, you have to confirm the dialog with administrator rights.
Installation of the SIM Dashboard PC Application
Now you are ready to install the SIM Dashboard PC Application.
Select the installation path
Select the installation path for the application here.
You can also adjust the Installer options.
- The Start with Windows Option is recommended, otherwise you have to start the application always manually
- Also make sure to tick the Allow SIM Dashboard in Windows Firewall Option. This is necessary to allow the Communication with the Android App
Start the installation by clicking "Install".
By checking "Launch SIM Dashboard Server" the application will start automatically when the installation wizard finishes.
The application is started and is located in the Windows "system tray" right beside the clock. You can open the user interface of the application by clicking on its symbol.
If you have a firewall installed (Windows integrated or third party) a window will pop up and ask you to allow the SIM Dashboard application to communicate.
Please note This is absolutely required, otherwise your pc can't send data to your Android devices.
The user Interface contains five tabs. The startpage (Start), the Game Management (Games), the Device Management (Devices), the UDP Forwading Tab and the Misc Tab.
The tab "Games" shows which games require configuration and lets you execute the required steps automatically depending on the game. Make sure to configure all your games to receive telemetry data.
Within the "Devices" tab you see the paired Android devices. You can also remove them there.
You can open the settings of the application using the button in the window bar of the main window.
The following options can be set there:
- Autostart of the application recommended
- Start with Admin rights (required for the ButtonBox Feature and to receive data from certain games)
- Search for updates on application startup recommended
- Receive Beta Updates
The application can be minimized to the system tray using the X icon in the window bar. It stays active then and runs in the background.
Great, that would be done!
Next step is to Pair the App with the PC
